EFFERVESCENCE
6-24 March 2023
‘Before commencing this series of new paintings I spent time in contemplation, all those pristine canvases calling out to me.
Each painting started out as an adventure and an experiment, not only in composition, but in the choice of medium, trying some unfamiliar to me and exploring how they react. The knowledge gained over 40 years of my art practice has given me the freedom to experiment. The excitement and passion I feel for painting is like that of embarking on a new adventure, even after all this time.’
Judith commenced painting with oils in 1971 at TAFE in Toowoomba, Queensland. She furthered her arts education at the Flying Arts School in Dalby and attending numerous workshops and masterclasses. Judith held her first solo exhibition in 1979 in Toowoomba, and since then has had over 45 solo exhibitions, and many group and shared exhibitions throughout capital cities and regional galleries in Australia, with shared exhibitions held in London and Singapore.
Judith has resided on the Sunshine Coast for the past 30 years, in both the hinterland and more recently coastal living.
We are delighted to be hosting Judith Laws’ solo exhibition this March. Please register your interest in receiving an online catalogue via email, or contact the gallery regarding pre-exhibition acquisitions.
