an exhibition of works by Blair McNamara

As one of the earliest exhibiting artists in the gallery’s 25 year history, Blair has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in many selected group exhibitions over this time.
These works are my surrender to ‘play’ as I swim deeper into abstraction. With my acrylic paints, colours emerge in layers as an indirect response of my gratitude for belonging here.
From a very young age Blair McNamara began making art on anything he could find including bits of broken fibro or old wardrobe doors.
His imagination remains tuned in to an on-going influence of growing up in rough, yet simple, beach-town architecture.
Blair’s prolific visual art career includes gallery shows, touring exhibitions, residencies, public tutorials, public art commissions and art prizes.
